You can make a lip mask at home with ingredients like coconut oil, honey, and beeswax:
Coconut oil and turmeric
- Mix coconut oil and turmeric powder, then add castor oil, sugar, and beeswax. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until thick and blended. Let sit for 30 minutes before applying.
- Beeswax, coconut oil, almond oil, honey, vitamin E oil, and essential oils
- Mix together beeswax pellets, coconut oil, sweet almond oil, honey, vitamin E oil, and a few drops of essential oil. Store in a lip balm container.
- Honey and brown sugar
- Mix one tablespoon each of honey and brown sugar. Scrub onto lips in circles for 1–2 minutes, then rinse with warm water.
- Lip masks are thicker and more nourishing than lip balm, and can help with chapped lips. They can soften the skin, replenish hydration, and make lips look and feel plump.
- Here are some tips for using lip masks:
- Apply a thick layer to your lips so the nutrients can seep in.
- Massage the first layer in, then add a second layer without rubbing it in.
